New York, April 19. General Bridges has arrived here. He predicts a German offensive in June on the West front or in Italy. He expects a serious crisis in 1918, and aiids; must not expect anything final from the present drive. If the Germans are halted they will entrench preparatory to anu.°"ens' ve - war has resolved itself into a question of man-power, and the Germans are striving for a dwiayn. before we can draw the -trump card; namely, the American army. The British army has its back to the wall and Sir Douglas Haig will fight it-out finish.
