MOTOR CYCLE RACING.

Keen interest is being taken in tlie races which are to be held nt Hawera to-morrow and if the weather holds as good as it is at present some good racing should be witnessed. For the past few days the majority of the riders competing have been getting through some ex cellent work on the course and it is the general opinion of those who have been fortunate to wi'.ness the work that for reai exciting racing it was out on its own. A very successful motor cycle meeting ivas held in Napier last Easter. In the flawkes' Bay Heavyweight Championship four of the crack riders started, viz., Coleman, Mangham, Crawley and Karton. The distance was 15 laps, each lap one piile and eight chains, therefore the actual distance covered was ICJ miles. This they covered in the good time of 12 minutes 54 3-5 seconds, Coleman eventually winning a well-contested race by fibout half a furlong.
