PATRIOTIC EFFORTS.
A cheque for £1073 ss. 9d has been forwarded to Mr. Varney, Y.M.CA., Wellington, as the result of Red Triangle effort in New Plymouth.
The Mayoress wishes to thank the Huirangi Library, per H'. E. Surrey Scott, secretary, for a quantity of books, also Mr- Pote, Bell Block. The receiving boxes in Devon street are proving a great success. Already over thousand book's for transports have been contributed through this source.
