London, April 11Palestine official: Our troops westward of the Tul'keram and Rumweli railway advanced on a 5-mile' front for ly, miles in depth, cu-pturing the villages of Eiketf and Rafat. The prisoners included a few Germans, For his services which culminated in the capture of Jerusalem General Chauvel has been created a K.C.8., and the New Zealander, Lieut.-Colonel C. JPowles, K.O.M.G.
The D.S.O. has been awarded to Captain R- P Harper (New Zealand), and the Military Cross to Lieuts. A. Hall (Wellington Rifles), M. E. Johnson (Auckland Rifles). R. Mackenzie (Camel Corps), and 'ft. T. Patrick (Engineers).
