ELTHAM.

Eltham, April 12. Mr. T. Thompson, the news vendor, has received cable advice that his second son, Private T Thompson, who was wounded some time back, has been removed to a hospital for treatment. His. eldest son has been discharged from the forces, having been invalided home suffering from shell shock. TVord has been received that Private Wilbert Rowe, who enlisted at Tauranga, has been killed in action. He was well known in this district, his parents for many years farming in the Mangamingi, before taking up land at Tauranga. Deceased has two brothers in khaki.

Another Eltham boy reported to have died of wounds is Lance-Corporal Gilbert .1. Seed, who was one of a well-known family here, and attended the Kltham school, afterwards removing to the Auckland province, where he joined the 16th Waikato's, and after two years' warfare died of wounds on March 27th.

The Eltham County Council meets tomorrow (Saturday). Private George McLeod is reported wounded. He is one of six sons of Mrs. W. S. McLeod, who have all done, or are doing, their best. Bob, the youngest, lies in a soldier's grave, while Will and Jack have been invalided home and discharged. Donald has been awarded two medals for gallantry in the field, and Andrew is a member of the ambulance section of the [main body.
