(From Our Own Correspondent ) Eltham, April 11. Mrs. W. Wilson presided at Uie last meeting held here of tnembsrs of the Eltham branch of the Plunket, SocietyThe report of Xurst Dix showed that the number of babies dealt with during the past six months was 0)5, and, including 2!) new cases, the number under care at present was 80: those adults receiving advice totalled 33, whilst the number of visits paid to homes was 277. The financial side of the society was shown to be very good—receipts £O7 10s 2d, expenses £l7 i-f? !><!. leaving « healthy credit balance of £SO Is 3d. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Xurse Dix for her work, A mother's t*n will be held on the afternoon of May 1.
The latest register of the patriotic appeal ''barometer'' show., the figures approaching the £IOOO. the approximate amounts to hand being: Eltham £35;), Mangatoki £2:il, Rotokare £lO2, l!a----whitiroa .CSft, Mata C.">n. Riverlea ;C 4f), Pukengahu £35. and Awatuna £2O. These figures total £Ol3, whilst other amounts have yet t« come to hand together with cash subscribed at Te Roti and Kaponsa. ISv the time the appeal is finally closed the sum promises to be of quite ample dimensions and will certainly prove very acceptable to the various .patriotic funds.
