The situation, from Xew Zealand's point of view, is bad, and it may become worse before it gets better. It is understood that communications from London emphasise the importance of economising shipping to the limit, and of moving the maximum number of troops in the months immediately ahead. Some of the steamers that might otherwise .have carried Xew Zealand produce may be required to carry American soldiers to Franco.
