THE RUSSIAN FLEET. LOST BY TREACHERY Petrograd, April 8. By occupying Ekenas and Reval the Hermans have secured control of the whole of the naval defences of Petro. grad Treachery of the most flagrant kind playing a leading part in the destruction of the Russian fleet. The Germans bribed on a big scale. Red Guards, practically 8050 men, and the fleet, including some of the largest ships, were taken at Kronstadt. Numbers ol cruisers, destroyers, and auxiliary naval craft remained in Finnish craters. Some steamed to Reval and jbined the .Germans and led the German cruisers and transports through the mine defences into Hango. The German descent on Hango is interpreted as a reprisal for the Russian fleet's alleged assistance to the Finnish Red Guards.
