The meeting of the Jersey Breeders' Association on Saturday was one of the most eiithusiatsic held here for many months. Those present included Messrs 1". Ranford (President), T. Ranford, J. T. Belcher, A. Unbelt, P. H. Tinnell, W. H. Rutledge, E. G. Gibbons, T. R. Mellow, P. D. Malone, J. S. Jones, D. O'Sullivan, W. Tl. Paynter, W. H. Mpi~, J. B. Clemow, D." Watkins, A. J. Smith, and W- 11. Tippins. The following remit was carried: "That the' Council take into consideration the importance of subsidising branches £ for £ up to £2O, for the purpose of office and general expense in running branches. Mr. E. Griffiths was requested to forward his last year's remit regarding alteration of rules of Association, re curtailing the powers of the Council so that they cannot override the ruling of an annual meeting". Keen interest was taken in this matter, several members upholding the president's contention that the Council should not be able to veto any rnlinjrs given hy an annual meeting as the principle was most undemocratic. The committee will go into the matter of obtaining suitable badge for membership, whilst t'hov will also consider the question of holding a field day and social evening on the lines outlined by the president. GENERAL.

The relatives of Private C. Till, who left by the 28tb Reinforcements, have been notified that he had received gunshot wounds in his left liip and buttock. The injuries were sustained in the fighting in France on March 20. Private Neil McQueen was farewclled at the Kaliou'ri hail on Saturday evening. Although the call of business kept many away, there was a good attendance of friends and visitors. Mr. Hann presented the guest of the evening with a wristlet watch, and wished him every good luck a.s a soldier of the king—sentiments endorsed by all present. Songs, etc-, were contributed by Miss Kennedy and Messrs P. Aitken, Peters, and Sanne. Mrs. Riauchi' supplied the music for the dance which was controlled bv Mr. Bonner.
