James, registrar, reports that during the month of March, there were 5 births, three deaths, and five marriages. The Returned Soldiers' Association had a good atttiidance at the social held on their behalf at the Town Hall last night. Ihe floor was in excellent order and the music, by Mr. C. H. Fox, all that could be desired. The duties of M'sC'. were in the capable hands of Messrs VV. H. Harris and T. Sullivan and the -ecretarial duties were entrusted to the right man in Mr. C. Rca. The thanks of the soldiers are due to Mesdames K. ,'J. Hogg (Midhirst). K. Adlam and J. Sheahan for the supervision of the supper The young men, Cole and Bell, who were lost in the Pohokura reserve on Friday, turned up safely next evening. Two search parties were' out and these also had to put in the night in the bush amidst dismal surroundings.

Miss Robson was in charge of the patriotic tea rooms on Saturday and scored .€4 'Os uy retailing tea and cakes. The mart was ontrolled by Mrs. Curtis, the takings amounting to £5 Itis Gd. The winners of ompetitions were Mesdames H. Good and Tyrer, Misses A. Rogerend Mollv Malone.

A reminder is given that to-morrow (Wednesday) morning tht 40th Reinforcements are due to leave Stratford. The Mayor and CaptaiirCampion are the speakers entrusted with the farewell addresses.
