The Government has issued a statement received through the Dutch Legation in Berlin, of certain war prisoner* at the seamen's prison camp at Brandenburg, confirming the recently published story of the awful death of six Russian, one French, and one English seamen at that camp. The prisoners were shut in a dungeon for alleged insubordination. A flrcf started. The sentry paid no heed to the prisoners' calls. The Englishman broke a window and leaned out. The sentry bayonetted him in the chest. A revolting struggle followed. Other prisoners attempting to escape were repeatedly bayonetted, and fell into the lame* and were burned to death.
