Rinks from Pihama, Stratford, Hawera, Fitzroy (2) and .New Plymouth are taking part. Owing to the rain in the morning a start was noty made until 11.30 a.m., and only the second and third rounds were The game played by the Tarankki rinks resulted as follows:
Section A.—Slmrp (Stratford) defeated Merriman, 22-10 and Vile, 21-14. Section (!. —Parkinson (Hawora) was defeated by J. A. Nash, 18-20 and Brackenridge, 12-23. Mason (Pihama) defeated Brackenridge, 24-15 and McKenzie, 21-15. Abbott (Fitzroy) defeated Whibley, 24-10, and was defeated by Bansome, 14-17. Section E.—Price (Fitzroy) was defeated by G. On Friday the Te Hiwi rink, which is visiting Taranaki, played Hawera two games. In the morning they were defeated by 10 to 14, and in the afternoon they won by 23 to 20. A closely-contested game was played between Te Hiwi and Fitzroy yesterday morning, and although the visitors were 9 down &\ the 16th head, they managed to end the game on level terms—l 9 all. The teams were as follows: Te Hiwi: Holdsworth, Shallcross, Johnson and Petersen (s). Fitzroy: Oxenham, Jackson, Lister and Smith (s). \ In the afternoon Te Hiwi played New Plymouth, but were defeated by "2 to 20. At the sth head New Piwmith were Bto 1, but-at the next head, with one up -against them, the Te Hiwi skip with his last bow! clipped the jack close to the rmk boundary, and scored 5. At the 9th head the score was 9 all, but New Plymouth thereafter held the lead to the finish of the game. The teams were: Te Hiwi: Jolinson, Peterson, Holdsworth, Shnllcross (s). New Plymouth: Carter, Wood, Johnsou, Peary (s). At the close of the game cheers were given for the visitors, who are leaving on the return trip to-day, by motor, and erpect to play Stratford and Eltham en route. >
