VISIT OF FEILDINTj SILVER BAND,
The visit of the Feildintr Salvation irmv Silver Band to Nmv Plymouth for ilie Raster week-end created a great '?«al of interest. Tiie band, consisting nf about 3(1 instnimonialists, and accompanied by several other members of (lie. songsters company, arrived on Satrdav morning and paraded through the town to the local Army hall. In the afternoon tiioy played a programme of music at the eorner of Devon and Brougham streets, and attracted' a largo '-•rtnvd. At night a big open-air service v.-as held at the same stand, when the band played a number of other items and the songsters contributed several inngs. Yesterday the band participated m the day's meetings. In the afternoon a/recital was given at Pnkekura Park. A large crowd of people irathered, and the programme submitted was thoroughly enjoyed. At night the band assembled at the eorner of Gover ami Devon streets, and marched to Everybody's Theatre, plavin.<j en route Handel's "Dead March'' in "Saul" as a memorial to the Ne\y Plymouth men who have fallen in the war. In the theatre a big meeting was held, conducted bv Adjutant Wain, Feilding. The band is '■"der the conductorship of Bandmaster •Johnson, and is a very powerful and Hood combination.
