THE PRICE OF WHEAT.
. DISCUSSED BY FARMERS. l!y Telegraph—Pr< ss Association. Christehurch, Last Nipht. At a meeting of the executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union today, Government prices for next year's wheat were discussed. It was held that the Government, in advancing the price of Hour adn ofl'als, had robbed the producers of the increase tillered, and it was decided to write to tile Minister of Agriculture and point out that a breach of faith had taken place, and to ask that tlce matter be adjusted. The general opinion was that the prices olfered would result in a greatly reduced acreage of wheat being sown, and the Government would have to import grain to make up the shortage, and pay more for it than they were ottering the New Zealand growers.
