Appellant deposed that he was farming three farms in partnership with four brothers, three of whom were on active service,-whilst the other had recently returned from service with the forces. The appeal was adjourned sine die. Reginald William Haseltine, farmer, llawera (Mr. Powell), appealed on the ground of public interest. Appellant said he was farming, without assistance, 0." acres freehold, and milking 3S to 40 cows by machines. Two brothers were at the front. Decision was reserved sine die. Mr. O'Dea (instructed by Mr. flraham, appeared for James Dalton, farmer, Waverley, in the employer's appeal with respect to his son, Briar John Dalton. Appellant said his son was his mainstay on his sheep farm. His son and witness did the sheep work on the farm, winch consisted ol" 270 acres. Decision was reserved sine die. ■Charles August Neilson, dairy farmer, Rowan, appealed on (he ground of public interest and undue hardship. Appellant deposed that he and his wife were working a small farm in the Rowan district. He had served for 2'/ 2 years in the Boer war. The case was adjourned until the May sitting to enable the Board to secure further information in regard to it. The appeal of William Frederick Hunton Hawke, motor mechanic, Fated, was allowed, appellant being under military •The following appeals were allowed, appellants having been called up in the wrong class of the Second Division: Frank Slnnbridge, farmer, Ohangai (Mr. O'Dea); David Hall Toms, farmer, Whakamara. (Mr. O'Dea); ErucsT Frederick Lnesch, motor mechanic, Opunake. Albert Edward Helcher, farm manager, Cardiff, applied for exemption on the ground of piv'blic interest. Evidence was given by Joseph Thomas Belcher that lie owned a farm of 233 acres, on which' he was milking 58 cows by machine. The appellant was working manager of this farm, and he assisted witness sometimes on the homestead. The appeal was adjourned until the May sittings. Frederick Arthur Rich, cheese factory manager, Cardiff, appealed on the ground that he was not a reservist, having already served with the forces. The Board decided to adjourn the, case until the next sitting to enable the dairy company to appeal for the appellant if it wished, and also so that appellant could be medical boarded.
