EAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent). Last month Mr. J. Stewart kindly donated a prixe for the bes-, essay on '■Hew I Spent My Christinas Holidays.'' On the evening of the 10th inst., a few of Mrs. J. McLaren's friends called at 'her home to bid her good bye on the occasion cf her leaving the district. Mrs. Wright, in a neat speech, referred to Mi' willinff and valuable help which Mrs. McLaren had always given in connection •villi liie Kahotu Ladies' Patriotic Sewing Cuild, and then on behalf of her friends, presented her with a handsome oak eight-day clock, and wishing her and Mr McLaren happiness and success in their new sphere, of work.
