COLLISION ON BRIDGE.
TRAIN SMASHES MOTOR CAR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Tauiuaruniii, Last Night. • A sensational collision between a. train and a motor car occurreil on the Malapuna bridge at midday. A new car, driven by W. Thornton lor W. 11. Signal, taxi proprietor, had only (ntered the bridge when a train gouig north met it coming oil'. The driver hail the presence of mind to jump clear, and escaped with some bruises. The car was smashed to atoms. Matapuna bridge is used for railway arid ordinary traffic under special regulation?. There is likely to be a claim made 'by t' car-owner for damages.
