THE EMPIRE. A TRIPLE STAR WORLD .FILM, "A WOMAN'S WAV."
A nicely-finished society play from the World Studios "A 'Woman's Way," was the chief attraction at tile Empire last niglit. Ethel Clayton ia at the head (•f tlie cast, which also includes (Jarlyle Blackwell a,nd Montague Love. The story concerns a pretty girl who marries a wealthy man. Immediately she plunges into a gay life of society, but finds it very different from what she hat' always imagined. She and her husband were slowly drifting apart, and he was indiscreet with other women, but managed to hide his philandering till at last, through a slight accident that befel him, she learned that he was entangled with an adventuress. Then the spirit of the ycung wife ia properly aroused. She even goes the length of inviting her husband's mistress home to dinner, and in the presence of t?ie husband proceeds to eclipse her utterlyThis part of the picture is beautifully mounted, and malces a strong appeal to: the hearts of the people. There are many effective scenes of domestic life in "A Woman's Way," -which is a first rate film, both fror., the point of view of story interest and beauty. The supporting picture include the second Government scenic film ''Alpine Regions of N.Z.," a Pathe Gazette and "The Secret Kingdom." The sarrie programme will tie repeated to-night and to-mor-row.
EVERYBODY'S. A FOX FEATURE TO-NIGHT, "THE PRIMITIVE CALL"
The rising young Fox star. Gladys Coburn will be featured at Everybody's to-night, in the William Fox feature "Tile Primitive Call," a story that goes from the gaiety of New York to the big open spaces of the mighty West, and the life of the great out-of-doors. The story concerns a society beauty who meets a "man'' and tries her usual drawing room arts to "make a killing," . ? hi,. succeeds, but suddenly finds the aaroe taken out of her bands, and she is treated to a little of the primitive life that not only awakens her womanhood but also her love. The supports include another of those famous Fox comedies "A Domestic Hound" and as the hound is Hank Mann, patrons can dopend on a real hearty laugh during the screening of this picture. COMING THURSDAY. LITLE MADGE EVANS IN "THE CORNER GROCER." The wondrous play that ran for 900 nights in New York, "The Corner Grocer" will be introduced for a two night season next Thursday and Friday, witli the charming little actress Madge Evans, and the famous comedian Lew Fields in the star parts.
