Christcliurch, Last Night

A telegram from Otira states that the Workers' Union has received a l'eply from 'Mr. Fraser, Minister of Public Works, stating that he could not meet the men' 3 demands to re-employ the hoy. A mass meeting of the men was held yesterday, when indignation was expressed iit the treatment received from the Minister. It was unanimously resolved to stand finy and fight the question to a finish. A deputation of two delegates i 9 being sent to Wellington to place the men's side of the dispute before the Minister.
