BOROUGH ROADS.

To the editor. Sir,—l wish to draw the attention of 'the Borough Councillors, through your columns, to the state the main road is getting in from the County Council boundary to Messrs. Johnstone's store. The rolling metal is in a bad way, and is really unsafe to drive horses on. I had a horse fall the other day, and practically ruined the horse's knees. Also had the Borough Council put on a man for about three days a month on the Devon line, and levelled the holes, this unmetalled road would, to some extent, have lessened the traffic on the main road. I invite the works committee of the council and its jV to take a tour over 1 the roads mem. [, to see if my statement is correct or not.—l am, etc., DAN J. HUGHES.
