METHODIST CONFERENCE
FINAL READINGS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dnnedin, March 7. The final reading of the Home Missions Stations was adopted. In a large number of stations missionaries are wanted for some reasons and may be made by the Home Mission executive. The list includes: Opunake, C. Stand; Okalo, E. King; Gonville, J. Reid; Douglas, J. Akers; Pa tea, W. Watson; Toanui, \V. Kaira; Apiti, J. Richards; Norsewood, W. Gattman; Halcombe, M. Ayston; Brooklyn, J. White; Porirua, C. Earwaker; iParparaumu, W. Alexander; Richmond, L. Brooks; Motueka, A. Nicholas. The following chairman of synodicai districts were elected: Auckland, Rev. Billhouse; South Auckland, Rev. Dukes; Taranaki and Wanganui, Rev. Sinclair; Hawkes Bay and Mauawatb, Rev. Richards; Wellington, Rev. Drake; Nelson, Rev. Rothwell; North Canterbury, Rev. A. C. Lawry; South Canterburv, Rev. Joughin; Otago, Rev, Grifiith;' Southlands, Rev. Peters. The question of sending regular monthly allowances to chaplains was referred to the Wellington Military Committee. The next conference opens at Christchurch on February 27. It was decided to appoint a chaplain to the returned soldiers in each of the chief centres, and that ministers, wherever possible, should get into touch with the returned men. The Board of Management Supernumerary Fund showed a balance of £92,344 at the end of 1917. Last year the working expenses were 1 per cent, of the income. CONCLUDING BUSINESS. Dunedin, Last Night.
