THEOSOPHICAL LECTURE.
''The Threads of Destiny" proved an attractive title and drew a'cod audience to hear Miss Christie in the Theosophica* Hall last night. The following is a synopsis of the. lecti,re:~vVith every thought, desire and action we weave the threads of destiny, for (hose threads are the livin.T lines of action made by the thought of God, His great, love-nature and His will as. manifested actively pressing itself throuali the bodies ( ',f all (lis creatures. Our thoughts are but His ("oughts passed through the dUorliu" mliil.ilii.g conditions of the human mind' Our de.-.ircs and emotions part of His love-nature, acting through the- medium of our desire bodies. Our actions are but a faulty expression of His will ,1111011 (he physical plane, and all these activities react upon us producing all (ha* we call life. On every side these threads of destiny encompass and .interpenetrate ns. and we deliberately choose here one,' there one. to which we attach ourselves' and which draw us in turn to jov or sorrow, pain and pleasure, wealth' and poverty, honor and dishonor. There is no escape from, this and the goal is certain for nil. it i H perfection-conscious divinity; but we may take our own time: No one has any right to hustle us. Drawn to-day by our chosen threads of destiny wo find ourselves attached to certain sroups of people, in a special nation, and race, and to a definite page in the world's history. Arc. you attaching yourselves to class 1., the helpers of'tiie Empire and of the world, unselfishly doing your bit, and working for the 'good of' the whole, and so earning an important and honored position in, the new order 'of civilisation, a place-among those who can be trusted in any world crisis? Or IT. striving for party or personal interests, taking advantage of the world's need, (he Empire's need, to pay off old scores,' and so' Writing yourself'down a failure in.the scheme of things, and earning a subordinate position in Hie future? 111. —Are you careless caring not who wins so long as you and yours are safe? : A traitor, a camp follower, earning the contempt, of voiir fellow men? Or IV.— Putting' off till the war is over before trying to reconstruct and help? The. wheels of time will not stop to give'yon breathing space when the war is over. Choose, now and work steadfastly lit the work of your choice for 'von will refip what you sow, and your future will bo the result of -your work to-day, , '
