BUSH FIRES.
PREVALENT ALONG THE COAST. Telephonic communication from Punilio last night states that bush'fires are raging in the district, which is covered with The fires commenced oni Sunday at the top of the road, and, favored by the gale blowing, have travelled about three miles down tKe road, It is iiot known if any damage has been done to property. Mr. W. Revell, of Ware#, had a rather exciting experience. While loading firewood, sparks from the burning bush set his dray afire. Fortunately, he was able, by unloading the vehicle, to extinguish the flames before much damage was done. It is stated that bush fires are also raging in the Koru district, where a Settler's house is said to have been s'esU"oy« ed.
