WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The council met last week. Present; Crs. McCutcheon, Nolan, Kentoul, MeLeod, Piteaitlily and Geever. A deputation of settlers waited on the council in connection with the Marcoroad, the outcome being that it was decided to apply to the land board for thS scheduling of £l3O accrued thirds to the Public Works Department for a subsidy on same, the money to be used in forming a portion of the lower Marco road, the resolution carried at the December, meeting being rescinded. In connection with a request by Mr. Brav for a bridge on the Whangamomona road to give access to his property", the engineer was instructed to place the position before the Land Bflard, and also to apply for thirds accruing to be "used for reconstructing the bridge. The engineer was instructed to attend to the Ohura road banking and repairs, repairs to Whangamomona Toad bridges, and the raising of a bad'bend on the Marco road. Repairs are tt> be effected to the Brewer and Makahu roads, and necessary maintenance metal secured for county Toads, A request by J, A. Robson for a tram 1 crossing on Ohura and Backohua roads, Tahora, was considered, and applicant is to be informed that the matter is one for | the Public Works Department, being out i of the county's jurisdiction.. Application is to be made for a loan'of • £IOOO for the widening of the Okarai road.
