Councillor Griffiths' (own-planning scheme in Whiteley i.iiv.-f, which I consider is most reasonable under Ihe circumstances, but I would like lo ask how 011 earth the Council approved of, the plans of the "house with a calico roof," recently erected in Whiteley street. It's only a house wifli a calico sheet And in Whiteley Street it stands, Its floor and walls arc of wood so cheap And it's built 011 Mission lands. It is lit bv night with electric light, And lit by day with the sun, Councillors just pass the store on the right; Yea, we mourn for our fathers to come! I think it nigh time for dear Ben to come back, As our councillors themselves must obey. I think it quite time for the Mayor to quack, Or (his is not all I will say. I am, etc., WHITELEY STREET.
