INGLEWOOD SWIMMING SPORTS.

I 1 ■ VERY SUCCESSFUL GATHERIXG. The Inglcwood Swimming Club have every reason to he pleased at the results of their sports held yesterday afternoon. The president. Mr. J. Sutherland, expressed the gr.itilication of the club at the satisfactory attendance of the publie. He also thanked the Ingiewood business people for trophies presented, and paid a tribute to the energetic and efficient manner Mr- R. Gediles had carried out the duties of secretary, handicapper, etc. The sports were all keenly contested, the juvenile events attracting large fields. In the plate diving L. Evans gave a good exhibition, gathering in 10 of the 11 plates. There were three events for ladies, Miss E. Xeilson winning all, with Miss.. McLean two seconds and Miss Rolston one second. The high diving showed the ladies quite canable of entering the water with casa and grace that compared very favorably with the men. The veteran', C. Seabright, still showed himself no m 2.111 opponent in the short sprints, whilst , Stanley Brown L. Seabright, ami Ross were the most promising of the youngsters. The following are the brief results: 25 yards (final): C. Seabright 1, G. Bailey 2. Close finish. 25 yards (boys): S. Brown 1, A. Mae, farlane 2. An easy win. 50 yards (final)': A. X- Baker 1, G. Bailey 2. A. Bailfey and C. Bailey also stnrted. A fine race throughout, Baker having a yard to spare. Plate diving (11): L. Evans (10) 1, C. Allen and A. X. Baker (0) 2. Awkward entry from shute: L. Baker 1. L. Evans and C. Allen also competed. Neatest dive: C. Allen 1. This was won after a keen tussle with G. Bailey. Ladies' 25 yards: E. Xeilson 1, \. McLean 2 E. Rolston and A.
