PUKEKURA PARK FETE.

ARRANGEMENTS WELL IN HAOT ■ A meeting of oenvenors of committee* in connection with the Pukekura Paik Gymkhana, which takes place at the Recreation Grounds next Thursday, was held at the Technical College last night, Mr. R. C. Hughes presiding. Reports frqm the various committees were received and showed that arrangements Were well in hand. The motor events committee reported having arranged the following items •- Decorated cars; best lady driver '<■!? car through obstacles; best gentleman driver through obstacles; slowest driven car for ladies and gentlemen; obstacle race on motor bikes; and egg and sp ion race with motor bike and side car through obstacles. The sports and aquatic events committee reported having arranged the following programme:—Swimming: Primary schools championship (50 yards) for boys and for girls; 100 yards champions (boys under IS and girls under 18); boat race (four* and coxwain in criw, under 18 years); canoe race (under 18 years). Land events:—22o yards cham* pionship for primary school boys; 220 yards championship for boys under IS; 100 yards championship for girls attending primary schools; 100 yards championship for girls under 18; dry boat i*a:2; potato race; messenger boys' bicycle race, and musical chairs (bicycles). They also reported that four medals had been offered as prizes for some of the events. Reports were also received from the music and advertising committees showing that matters in connection with tin evening concert were proceeding sat'?fnctnrilv, and that arrangements for the publication of the programme were practically completed.
