INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Inalewood, Feb. 28. The swimming club is holding a monster carnival in the baths on Thursday next. A splendid programme has been arranged and a very fine lot of prizes have been secured. Supporters of swimming have beer, most liberal with specials which are on view in Mr. Grddes' shop window. A pleasant afternoon is promised. The patriotic committee arc very busy making arrangements for their fete which ♦ tikes place on Thursday, March 7. The New Plymouth Pierotts are to be present and athletic items for school children are to be included in the programme. Produce and other stalls are to play a prominent port - well a.i spectacular events such an dance, etc. As the school did nt" am their combined picnic this year it nit* been decided tn ask them to join l <n. Application is also being made to the Minister to allow raffles to be held for which quite a number of useful articles have been given. A ] procession is to leave the post office. The proceeds are to be used for patriotic pur- i poses. ( The Anglican Church which lias been i situated in Cutficld street for over 40 years has been moved to the new site in ] Rata street. Until the church is again i ready for use services arc be'ins held in ] the -Parish Hall which has been fitted up with the church furniture, The Borough employees are busy retorting and sanding tlie footpaths in the j bbrocgh, which is of -considerable import- - ante now that winter is approaching. i' " i
