"TOMMY ROT."

IS THE SECOND DIVISION GOING TO TEE FRONT? Wellington, Yesterday. "The statement that the Second Division is not going to the -front is 'Tommy rot!'"—so stated Mr. R. A. Armstrong, president of the Second Division League, at a meeting of the league last night. Mr. Armstrong .said the postponement of the sending of members of the league into camp was the natural result of reduced reinforcements and other causes. In the months to come members would see that it was absolutely necessary for the Dominion to continue taking its part in the war, and the men of the Second Division would go in tlieir turn. (Applause.) Mr. Armstrong added that it was incorrect that the Second Division League had brought pressure to bear on the Minister of Defence to retard the members of the Second Division going to the front. If such pressure had been brought, then it had been by people pockets would be affected, and were afraid to bear the cost. (Applause.)
