Hanover two horses, GENERAL* It was reported in town this, morning that a motor-car belonging to Mr. Colin McLaren, of Toko, had been destroyed by fire. By some means or other the ear backed off the road, and whilst endeavoring to get it into position it (Till"lit fire- Before the outbreak could be extinguished the car had been severely dafnaged. A charge of using obscene langn-ge on the Stratford-W)\nngamomona train will be heard at the "sktihg of the S.M. Court this morning. The language was used against a prominent Stratford business man wh& happened to be on the train. v Not a little comment has been occasioned at three councillors not recording their votes on, the recent censure motion by the Mayor against Cr. Thompson. Some of the ratepayers describe this abstention as "rail-sitting." The "Ucan" haircutter has proved a popular article in the household. Mr. P. E. James, agent for this district, has been notified that the' Government contemplates purchasing some for use with members of the Defence Department. It ir a unique gift that would be much appreciated, particularly by those in the trenches, as with a gift of this description a soldier could always keep his hair clipped short, and thus lie spared a good deal of misery and irritation. An invitation is given to all to see the "l T can" haircutter.—Advt.
