NEXT WEEK'S SHOW. Given fine weather, the Taranaki Agricultural Society's new show grounds at Waiwakaiho should present a very gay appearance on Wednesday and Thursday week next, when the 43rd annual show will be in full swing. Igst year's show, the first on the new grounds, was a good one; many declared it the best in the history of the Society. This year's show promises to be even better, despite the fact that this is war time. The Society is pleased to be able to report that entries tor all divisions have exceeded all expectations. The number of new names appearing amongst the exhibitors is most striking, indicating tlie spreading desire for high-class stock. "People's Day," Thursday, 28th inst-, is being made a most interesting and attractive day. On this day the Grand Parade of all prizewinners will take place at 1.30 p.m. followed immediately afterwards by tlie competition for best trotting horse in harness. Then in order the best paced and mannered ilmck, champion pony, champion harness horse, champion hack, hunter's leaping : competition, ladies' hunter's leapifig competition, pony iumniiie competition, and jumping steeplechase style. The New i'lyniuuti; Citizens' Band will be in attendance to provide the musical pari of the programme. Luncheon, afternoon tea, soft drinks and ices may be procured oil the growids, the Society having decided to manage their owia catering arrangements this year. .Displays of motor cars, milking machines, and all classes of agricultural machinery will be on the grounds for inspection by those interested. Baker's Circus and numerous other side shows will be there for these who care to "have a look." Altogether a most enjoyable two days' entertainment is promised to patrons. Trams will leave Egmont street every IS minutes o n both days, and for the public travelling by rail, trains will leave New Plymouth at jjj2o and fi p.m., Smart road o.S.i p.m. and 0.15 pm: for Stratford and I-fawera respectively on People's Day only. Remember and keep tlie 27th and 28th of this month free for your own show.
