THE TAUPIRI MINERS.
TAUPIRI STRIKE ENDED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Vol). Yl The extended miners decided to. resume to-morrow, as the result of a satisfactory report as to the safety of the mine by the check inspectors. The union secretary stated that the examination this morning by the Government Inspector, representatives of the company and check inspectors disclosed gas in the disputed area, but the danger from lire wiH.b*. eliminated by the fact that the water i* anticipated to flood the whole of the disputed area to-morrow morning. The miners have unanimously decided to resume. Tie general manager, questioned, said there U no more in the gas question than before. Aucckland, Feb.. 13. Work was resumed in the Taupiri- Extended Colliery this morning.. The* flooding of the area which the men declared to be dangerous has been completed, The company officials deny that, jthe examination disclosed anything materially different in regard to gas from what was already known.
