SALE OP INTOXICANTS. Melbourne, Feb. 12. In the report of the committee inquiring into the sale of intoxicants to 3oldiers, Brigadier-General Williamß, of the Victorian command, states that six o'clock closing has reduced disorder amongst soldiers, though they still obtain drink after that hour. Referring to venereal disease, only 3 to 4 per cent, of the cases were due to drink. Between 60 and 70 per cent, were either teetotallers or distinctly temperate.
