DROWSED WHILE BATItING By Telegraph.—Press Association."' Chnstehnrch, Feb. 11. . On Saturday afternoon Thomas jJempspy, aged 14 years, was drowned while, bathing in the tepid baths.,. From the evidence at tin 1 inquest it appeared that the lad was twice assisted out by another boy, but dived in a third time and was dead when lie was got out. A verdict was returned of accidentally drowned, no blame attachable to anyone, but the coroner suggested that it be well to have an attendant at the deep end of the baths. Frederick James Swanston, a married man of 4-1 years, with five children, was drowned while bathing on New Brighton beach yesterday, 'his wife and children being spectators of the fatality. Another man. named Crawford, who was with him. had a narrow escape, requiring assistance to get ashore. KILLED BY A TRAIN Gisborne, Feb. 11.
