MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
RESERVISTS' APPEALS. The First Wellington Military Service Board resumed its sitting in Hawera yesterday. The Board gave its decisions in the following appeals: H. A. Bartlett, farmer, Kapuni, adjjourncd until the next sitting for further information. H. H. G. Bennett, farmer, Kohuratahi, previous decision re-aifirmed, leave granted until April 30. Tiie appeal of Bernard Edmondson Cio'and, farmer, Knponga, which was previously before the Board, was further reviewed. / Mr. Stanrord appeared for the appellant, who stated there was no alteration in his circumstances. The appeal was adjourned sine die. The appeal of Alfred Cocker, farmer, Ararata, which was on the ground that the reservist was in the wrong class of the Second Division, was adjourned for the production of the certificate. The appeal of Midhael Patrick Condon, dairy farmer, Te Roti, previously before the Board, was again considered, and was adjourned sine die. Mr. O'Dea appeared for the appellant. Alfred Poole, sheep farmer, Moeroa, who was previously granted temporary exemption, had his appeal reviewed. Appellant stated that the had not yet finished his shearing. In reply to Captain Walker, appellant said he would try and arrange to get someone to look after his place by April. The appeal was dismissed, leave heme- granted until April 30. The appeal of Ernest William Gibbe, ifarmer, Inglewood, was allowed, appellant having been called up in the wrong class (A) of tHie Second Division, whereas he should have been in Orbs B.
Ernest Phillips, farmer, Rawhitiroa, for whom Mr- Stewart appeared, appealed on the srrounds of public interest and undue hardship. Appellant gave evidence that- he was farming 117 acres- He was milking 37 cows bv machine. Ho had the assistance of a school hoy, and had practically worked the farm single-handed for the last two years.

The ease was adjourned until the next sitting for further information. The appeal of William TTarbock Kin?, blacksmith. Okniawa, which was on the around that appellant was called up in the. wrong class. was adjourned until the next sitting to enable tile appellant to he medical-hoarded. The Pihama Dairy Company appealed for George Sinclair, rheesemaker. Mr. G. Looney. chairman of the Pihama Dairy Company, said that Laurenfon did not wish to appeal, and under the circumstances he desired extension of time for the reservist until the end of the seasonThe chairman said the reservist would not go into camp until the end of April in any case. The appeal was forroallv withdrawn and the reservist .granted leave until April SO. William George Lister, dairy farmer, Mnnnia. for whom Mr. O'Dea appeared, appealed on the <rround of public interest and undue hardship. Anpellant deposed that he held a leashold farm and was milkincr 2"> cows, TTe employed no labor hut had the assistance of his wife. The unpen! was ndjourned until the next sitting for further information. John Forbes McGregor. farmer. Meremere, for whom Mr. O'Dea appeared, annealed for his son, George Donald McGregor.
