THE CHIEF AWARDS. Pahiatua, Feb. 8. At the annual show there was a big attendance, an advance on last year. The championships are: Jerseys—Bull, Kdgar Hardii.g, Woodville; cow, L. Polglase, Malum. Holsteins.—Bull, J. S. Bairstow, Ruawhata. Milking Shorthorn bull and Lincoln rams.—S. Bolton. Among the prize-takers were: Dairy cattle: M. Alpass, J. W. Odgers, 0. Brown, K. Darley. Romneys: Alex. McKay, R. Haliburton. Fats: L. Johanscn. Lineolns: H. R. Wilton, R. Burns, A. McKay. W. Howard Booth's Lonely was winner in two hack classes. 0. Johansen's Coronella won the open hunters' competition and the ladies' hunting competition. Other competitions were won by Norman Avery's and A. S. Goodwin's horses. The Awapuni Pipe Band collected a large sum of money for the Soldiers' Tobacco EW
