Evidence was given liv the police thftt y.-heu the race was in progress the totalisator showed that £242 was invested on Cast Iron, but at the conclusion of the race the amount had been increaM& Jv £2O The defence denied that any monev had been received for Cnat -Iron or any other horse after the totalisator . closed- The difference was due to the discovery of an error wlier checking the totals The flrat, charge was Jlismlssed' and a fine of twenty shilling imposed 1' the other.
