BOWLING.
HONORING THE WINNERS. The members of the Fltzroy Bowling Club tendered a complimentary social last night to their fellow club member* who were successful in winning the Cham* pionship at the recent Taranaki tournament. The function was held in the pavilion, and there was a large attend* ance. Mr. 8. Smith (president of tha club) was in the chair. After the loyal toast had been honored, the chairmxa proposed "The Guests," and in doing so complimented them on the fact of being the first Fitzroy team to secure the coveted'honor. Mr. Abbott suitably responded. Other toasts honored were: "Taranaki Centre," proposed by Mr. P. Jackson; "Kindred Sports and Sister Clubs," proposed by Mr. F. W. G. MoLeod; "Boys at the Front," proposed by Mr. A. B. Gibson; "The Ladies? Mr. J. Bennett; and "The Press," Mr. W. Healy, During the evening the following contributed items: Messrs. L. Smith, DunBtan, Keys, and Beadle, songs'; Mr. J. Bennett, recitations; Mr. Norman, flute solos. Mr. W. Perry presided at the piano. The chairman expressed the thanks of the members to the ladies who had arranged the room and laid the supper table. The proceedings concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem. NEW PLYMOUTH v. WAITARA. The following rinks will represent New Plymouth in the match against Waitara to be played at Waitara tomorrow:— Hooper, Cutfield, Luseombe, Bary; Ohaney, Phillips, Wood, W.
