" '' AN ESCAPEE CAUGHT. Auckland, Feb. 2. '• Thomas Christie, who escaped froin custody on the Main Trunk express' on Wednesday, was recaptured at ndOn to-day. Two detectives, acting on the information that Christie had been peen in one of the suburbs, discovered him walking along a road. He surrendered without a struggle and was taken to the mental hospital. He had liecn living on poultry and vegetable dbtained from residences. He cooked the food in a, Maori oven.
