MISHAP TO S.S. MAORI.

PROPELLER BLADE LOST. Christehurch, Jan. 20 . It .was not until II a.m. to-day that the ferry steamer Maori put in an appearance at Lyttelton. The delay was duo. to the vessel having cast a blade of the centre propeller when just outside Wellington Heads. The passengers say they felt a shock, and immediately the engines raced. There was no excitement, and the vessel proceeded on her course ..to Lyttelton at a reduced speed. The trip occupied about fifteen hours. The-propeller could not be repaired to-day, the dry dock being occupied, and .the Maori left for Wellington to-niglit.with only the starboard and . port ; prppellt.rs in use. She will probably -be, docked, &b Lyttelton on Thursday.
