In the Assembly Dr. Arthur gave notice of motion urging the Federal Government to commandeer all coastal and inter-stato shipping and use jit for carrying food. WHEAT FOR THE STATES AND CANADA. Received Jan. 30, 9.40 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 30. The wheat conference resolved to ask the Federal Government to approach the Imperial authorities, and endeavor to get the United States to provide immediately all the shipping space possible, and despatch Australian wheat to the' United States and Canada, and enable the latter to make available an equal quantity for the Atlantic coast for the Allies.
