DISTRICT NEWS.
URENUI. (From ('orrespondent). On January ii the Women's Christian Temperance Union held its usual monthly meeting at Mrs. Sawry's residence. Some M:iori leaflets on t.lie reaving of babies ami sanitary conditions, etc.. w'ere read. It was decided to ask the Maori missioner to distribute name anion;; the Maoris. The secretary reported that the union was in a good financial po.-ition. It was decided to discuss at the next meeting the best and most needful means of distributing the funds. The president spoke of the recent loss of one member, and expressed sympathy, on behalf of all the members, for Mr. Hick and family. Th« meeting closed with the hymn ''The Sands of Time" and the benediction, afier which refreshments were handed round. The next meeting will be hold at Mrs. Graham's, Onaero, on the third Wednesday in February.
