The weather was cloudy, with occasional light shower?, and the wicket was sticky. The visitors losing the not-out men for n run apiece, scored SOS (Crawford 110; Baker S">). A feature of the play was the Auckland fieMing, six of the visitors beinp caught. Crawford and Baker both played sterling cricket, but the former wat easily caught in the slips by Midlane, off Daere. Auckland, in the second innings, scored 04 (Daere 20 and Midlane 17). Crawford and Brice bowled throughout, the former taking: five wickets for ">:! and the latter five for 2(1. Requiring five to win, Wellington lost two wiekets for none Crawford then scored a boundary and a single.
