MR. CHL'RCHILL'S ASSURANCE. THE CALL TO AMERICA. London, Jan. 13. The Minister for Munitions. iMr. Winston Churchill, speaking at the American Club luncheon on Saturday, said? ''The German reception of Mr. "Wilson's «nd Mr. Lloyd George's speeches shows there is a veritable abyss between the sober minded opinion of Great Britain and America and that of the Prussian ruling classes. As a welcome to our peace terms the German response is to sink a hospital ship. American help must come (piicklv. Our women must render still more help. Rationing must ho introduced. Young men must leave the munition factories" "I have, owing to the shortage of tonreduced the consumption of steel for munitions by hundreds of thousands of tons,-though the gunners are waiting ,fov the munitions. But X can give the assurance that the British Army in IMS will have far more powerful artillerv and a larger supply of shells than in any previous campaign. "By drawing upon our reserves we have enough to equip 100,000 American soldhys to the last detail. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of Germans, with thousands of guns, are hurrying westward a< fast as the deteriorated German railways will carry them, our preparations for the reception of these hordes are not being overlooked." !
