Tt became known at Detroit recently that Federal agents in Detroit were investigating an alleged plat to abduct or' kill Henry Ford, the second infant son of Edsel Ford, and grandson of the multimillionaire manufacturer. A letter demanding 10,000 dollars ( £2000) from Edsol Ford as the price for the baby's safety, was turned over to post office inspectors. The letter was signed "Sicilian Anarchists' Association." Jacob Yellin, aged 20, was 'arraigned in United States District Court, charged with sending the threatening letter to Edsel Ford. When Yellin \yas taken into Court, Government agents said that he was the second person taken into custody. Yellin was arrested when a decoy package supposed to contain 10,000 dollars was delivered to him by a messenger boy, who called for it at the Detroit Post Office, where the letter to Mr. Ford directed the money should be left. Yellin admitted he had engaged the messenger but declared he did so for an unknown third party. Federal agents accompanied Yellin to a street corner, where he said he had an appointment with the unknown man, but the latter failed to appear.
