KliW J'JIOO.KAMMJS AT KVJiRYBODV'S TO-DAY. TH!Ii MAELSTROM. No more exiting mystery drama luia ever been screened than "The Maelstrom," the Greater Vitagraph play screening at Everybody's for the first time to-day. Jimmie Halket, millionaire clubman'is lighting his cigarette, when from the fog, a woman darts to him, thrusts a package into his hand and says "lake it and run." Jimmio's enquiring mind sends him to the address written 011 the package, and, felled by a blow in the darkened room, he waiceß to find himself alone with the body of a murdered man. Tliiß all occurs, as it were, in a few minutes, and the rapid action of the play keeps the interest as terrific tension. Earle Williams is the hero, and delectable Dorothy Kelly the heroine. The plot is very clever, full of surprise turns and twists, and the eventual solution of the identity of the murderer a complete surprise. Suspicion strongly points to the girl at first, and her presence in the underworld, is quite inexplicable, as she proves to be well bred and the daughter of the wealthy murdered man. The film is remarkable for strangely tinted light effects, and the peculiarly vivid way in which the furious struggles which attend the detectives' investigations, are shown in silhouette upon the screen. Other items of the new programme arc the 11th chapter of the serial drama, "The Iron Claw/' and the Weekly War Budget. To-day matinee commences at 2 p.m.
