(From Our Own Correspondent.) | Kltham, Jan. 15. The clerk of the Coult, Mr. Freeman, has supplied the following details for the September-December quarter: Number of sittings 9, total amount sued for JE;)G2, amount recovered .£220, number o' processes issued 00, criminal charges heard 17, old age pensions granted 17 and 1 refused. Captain CrifTen, of the Salvation Army, has been successful in passing the military examination and proceeds to early in April. He will be succeeded by Captain Dawkins, of Hawke's Bay. The installation of a cooling plant in the dairy company's new premises is now almost completed. It is a pity the necessity exists for the erection of such premises, but in looking ahead the directors are showing wisdom, A small portion of the Eltharn cheese was shipped recently, On February 2S, WIS, Eltharn sustained a loss in the death of Dr. Alfred George Harrison, and it was then lecided to erect memorial gates to commemorate one who had worked hard for the welfare of the district. Now, after five years, the results of the committee's efforts are to bear fruit, as the reserves committee of the Borough Council are reporting progress with the sates, which are to be placed at. A* main entrance. With concrete posts the gates should stand fair wear and t-rfir .ir.rt deaerve better treatment than the Kidd memorial fountain in the park.
