EXEMPTION APPEALS. The First Wellington Military Service Hoard sat, in Hawera on Saturday morning. William Keith Chapman, dairy farmer k Eltliam, whoso case was previously bo. fore tho Board, stated that his circumstances had not changed. Mr. Powell appeared for the appellant. The appeal was dismissed, leave hcing granted until May 28. Patrick McGlinehey, sharemilktir, Kaponga, for whom Mr, O'Dea appeared, appealed on the ground that he was in ClasA C of the Second Division, having two children. The appellant produced the birth certificates of the two children. The appeal was allowed. Robert Johns, farmer, Okaiawa, appeared in support of an appeal made by* Mrs. Johnstone, a widow, for her employee, Arthur Mnyne Morecraft. Mr. Johns said the employer was only asking for extension of time until the end of June. The appeal was dismissed, leave, beiug granted until May 28. Herbert Huwiler, farmer, Opunake, for whom Mr. Marshall appeared, asked for teave until ihe end of the milking season. Tire appeal was dismissed, leave being granted until Juno 25. James Crawford, farm laborer, Kapuni, applied for leave until the end of the hii Iking season. The appeal was dismissed, leave being granted until June 25. The following appeals ofjgeeond Division reservists were allowed, appellants having beea called up in the wrong classes, their correct classes being shown. in parentheses: Joseph Hudson, horso driver, Hawera (B); James Brown, horse trainer, Hawera (C); Herbert Petch, farmer, Hawera (D). [ The appeal of 'Walter Sutton, laborer, Manaia, was formally dismissed, appellant'having been medical-boarded C2 (home service). > Tho appeal of George Henry Vincent, sharemilksr, Ohangai, who did not appear, was dismissed. John Sydney Cousins, horse driver, Normanby, who appealed that he had been called up in the wrong class of the Second Division, has his appeal adjourned until Monday for the production, of the necessary marriage and birth certicates.
