TARANAKI EDUCATION BOARD

APPOINTMENT OF PUPIL TEACHERS AND PROBATIONERS. A special meeting of the Taranaki Education Board was held yesterday, there being present Messrs R. Masters (chairman), H. Trimble, C. A. AA'ilkinson, S. G. Smith, and P. H. J. AA'hite. The main business of the meeting was the appointment of pupil teachers and probationers, and also the appointment of teachers to fill various vacancies. Pupil teachers were appointed as follows: Mr. P. D. Chapman, AVaitara; Misses I. H, Paulger, Inglewood ; E. M. Rullard, ,1. Hyndman, L. F. Corncy, Central: E. M. Gibson, Fitzrov; S. M. Farquhar, Hawera 'D.11.5.: M. E. Leach, Stratford D.11.5.; M. A. Ilawkes, West End; 0. L. Dueker, Frankley. Probationers were appointed as follow: Misses E. Frethey and L. AVhiting, Elthjnm; D. Martin, Xormanbv; A. Rawlin«on, I'itzroy; H. C. Anderson, M R. Lunam, Hawera DJLS.; I. A. Mountford, Midnirst; M. E. Foley, Ngawe; A, I. [Arms, Norfolk; F. O. Freer, Tariki; F. jE. Evans, AA'est End; M. AA'ilson, Inglewood; N. V. Collier, Manaia. A number of appointments will be made later to fill vacancies. Several appointments of head teachers, sole teachers, and assistants were recommended to fill*vacancies, but have to be submitted to the various school committees before being finally approved.
