MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of fi.e committee of (he Taranaki Head Centre of the Koyal lifeSaving Society was held at tlu, Soldiers' Club rooms last night Mr. S. G. Apologies for absence were received from the Misses White (2), and Melsauc, Messrs J. Hughes. E. L. Meliroy, and A. Milne, Miss Bldwell was elected a member of the society. life-Saving competition. The secretary reported that the following entries had been received for the schools life-saving competition: Junior Competition (Hughes Cup).— Eltham District High School (4 teams), Central, West End, Frankk-y 3'oad. Hawera District High (2 teams). Oaonui (2 teams), Manaia, Warea, lnglewood (2 teams), Tataraimak'a, and Mangatoki. Although not sttaed in every ease, it is believed *eVer£i other schools are entering more than one team. Senior —Nur Po ir.out.h Girls' High School (4 teams), N.P. Boys' High School (4 teams), Eltham 'District High School, Hawera District High School (3 teams). Mr. Christiansen was appointed examiner. The matter of fixing the date for the examination was left in the hands of Messrs Christiansen and Sctvwart?. It, wm decided to deputations the Borough Council with a view to securing the public baths for the final of the competition. TAROR SHIELD COMrFJITION. It was arranged that the Tabor Shield competition should be held on Thursday, February : 21. Air. P. A. Schwartz was appointed examiner, and Messrs Whittle and Bennett were appointed timekeepers. The arrangements for fixing the buoy Were left in the hands 0? Messrs Christiansen and Bennoeh. GENERAL. Mr C. K. Sievowfight, the society's representative at lnglewood, wrote tendering Mb resignation on account of his inability to attend re.jularlv at the baths. It was decide-] to ask' Mr. Sicve:wright to reconsider his decision. Mr. Christiansen and Mr. Schwartz were appointed examiners for the Award of Merit.
